October 30, 1735 - John Adams born to John and Susanna Boylston Adams, in Braintree, Massachusetts.

1755 - Adams graduates from Harvard College.

1761 - Adams is admitted to the bar.

1764 - Adams marries Abigail Smith in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

1765 - Adams opposes the Stamp Act.

1770 - Boston Massacre; Adams acts as defense counsel for British soldiers.

1774 to 1778 - Adams represents Massachusetts at the Continental Congress.

1789 - Adams becomes Vice President under George Washington.

1801 - John Adams succeeded by Thomas Jefferson.

July 4, 1826 - John Adams dies on the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
