President John Adams Dollar Coins

As the second entry in the new Presidential Dollar Coin Series, John Adams Dollars will premiere in May of 2007. The $1 coins are being introduced in accordance with the Presidential Coin Act of 2005, which requires the United States Mint to strike the coins in commemoration of former US Presidents in the order in which they served in the office. Adams was born in Massachusetts in 1735 . He served his country as a member of the Continental Congress, as an ambassador and as Vice President. He served as President of the United States from 1797 through 1801.
